Teaching Assistant
Location: Newham, East London
Salary: £1,800 - £2,200 per month
Start Date: Immediate / September
Contract: Full-time
A welcoming primary school in Newham is looking for a committed Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
This is an excellent opportunity to provide 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils build confidence, access learning, and make strong academic and social progress. The role would suit candidates with school-based experience, SEN experience, or graduates looking to build a career in education.
The school has a strong inclusive ethos, supportive leadership, and a collaborative staff team focused on helping every child succeed.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group SEN support
Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development
Encourage positive behaviour and independence
Work closely with teachers and the SEN team
Support classroom learning and targeted interventions
Requirements
Essential:
GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
Experience working with children or in an SEN settingDesirable:
Experience supporting ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or speech & language needs
