Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Transport Manager to oversee our logistics operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the transport team, ensuring efficient delivery of goods, and maintaining high standards of customer service. This role requires strong leadership and organisational skills to optimise our supply chain processes while adhering to safety regulations.
Duties
* Manage daily transport operations, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods.
* Oversee the logistics team, providing guidance and support to enhance performance.
* Develop and implement transport strategies that align with company objectives.
* Coordinate with suppliers and customers to ensure seamless communication and service delivery.
* Maintain accurate records of transport activities using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
* Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
* Evaluate transport costs and identify areas for improvement in efficiency.
* Foster a culture of safety within the team, ensuring all staff are trained in safe driving practices.
* Prepare reports on transport performance metrics for senior management review.
Experience
* Proven experience in a management role within the logistics or transport sector.
* Strong understanding of supply chain processes and best practices.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and general IT skills.
* Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
* Demonstrated leadership abilities with a focus on team development and customer service excellence.
