Acoustic Logging Technician – South East Water
RPS are seeking Acoustic Logging Technicians for our South East Water contract to take noise samples on the water network in Basingstoke, Kent and Sussex. Join our team to develop your skills and work with one of the UK’s leading environmental consultancies.
About The Team
The RPS Asset, Surveying, and Inspection (AS&I) team provides industry‑leading services to the UK water industry. Our employees support water networks, drainage, surveying, leakage consultancy, water resources and efficiency. The team analyses complex data to deliver pragmatic solutions that reduce water leakage, prevent flooding and pollution, and support regulatory targets.
About You
As a key member of the AS&I business, your role as Acoustic Logging Technician is critical to delivering excellent customer service and executing complex operational tasks. You will work flexibly, including weekends, evenings and overtime, and must enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Responsibilities
* Locate water main fittings
* Take noise samples using electronic leak detection equipment
* Full training will be provided
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
* Prior experience in acoustic logging or a related field is beneficial but not essential
* Enjoy working outdoors under all weather conditions
* Good basic maths and English skills
* Basic IT skills
* Willing to work nights, weekends and overtime as required
* Good hearing
* Comfortable working alone and as part of a team
Qualifications
* Full UK driving licence
Health and Safety
* Move heavy items including inspection chamber covers
* Work in all weather conditions, including night work
* Work in confined spaces and on highways
* Mandatory drugs and alcohol tests and DBS check will be undertaken
