Overview

The post holder reports to the Medical Education Manager and supports medical education programmes within the Trust in the Postgraduate Medical Education and Education Centre. The role administers the Year 2 Foundation Training Programme for Resident Doctors in Training and supports Joint Foundation Year 1 and 2 Core Teaching. The Medical Education Administrator will organise, advise, plan, manage and support the training programme areas and act as Committee Administrator for the Foundation Education Governance Group. The post holder will participate in bi-annual reviews and final annual reviews of training (ARCPs) for year 1 and year 2 foundation doctors.


Responsibilities

* Provide details to Year 2 Foundation Training Programme for Resident Doctors in Training on: educational onboarding/welcome programme, mandatory teaching, careers workshops and information, simulation training, use of the ePortfolio, mid-term and end-of-year assessments, Teams platform and other educational portals.
* Signpost doctors to information on study leave, wellbeing, educational and clinical supervision, Foundation Training Programme Directors and Royal College Tutors, employment and travel expenses, useful websites, and news/events/courses of interest.
* Attend internal and external meetings as appropriate.
* Support Joint Foundation Year 1 and 2 Core Teaching, including Friday core teaching ("Friday FELs"), Psychiatry teaching, and Quality Assurance.
* Act as Committee Administrator for the Foundation Education Governance Group (quarterly meetings, agendas, minutes and actions).
* Organise, support and participate in the bi-annual reviews and final ARCPs for year 1 and year 2 foundation doctors.


Qualifications and Requirements

* Essential criteria: 3 A/T Levels (or equivalent) at Grade C or above; GCSEs in English and Maths at Grade C or above; proven administrative experience; proven experience in a busy customer-focused environment; excellent verbal and written communication; ability to handle complex, sensitive information; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work with a wide range of people including senior Trust members; excellent time management and organisational skills; excellent numeracy and literacy; excellent information management (paper and electronic); ability to multi-task; ability to work both in a team and independently; ability to use initiative; ability to work under pressure; ability to assimilate information, analyse and interpret; ability to propose changes; ability to deal with frequent interruptions; willingness to travel to off-site meetings.
* Desirable criteria: knowledge of NHS and Higher Education structures; knowledge of current medical education; alignment with OUH Trust Vision and values; ability to adhere to Trust policies and procedures.
* Technical Skills: essential: good Microsoft Office skills including Teams.
