Head of Growth & Marketing
Salary: £58,000–£68,000
Location: Glasgow
Reports to: Group Managing Director
Type: Full-time, Permanent
Why Join Staffscanner
Staffscanner is reimagining how care is delivered by connecting care providers with a flexible, high-quality workforce through technology. We operate at the intersection of care, technology and staffing — a space with real complexity, real impact and significant growth potential.
The business is entering an exciting next phase. The foundations are in place, demand is strong and the opportunity now is to scale intelligently. This role sits at the heart of that journey. You will help shape how Staffscanner grows, how it shows up in the market and how quickly it realises its ambitions.
If you are motivated by building something meaningful, working closely with senior leaders and seeing a clear line between your work and business growth, this role offers that in spades.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Head of Growth & Marketing to own and lead Staffscanner's growth strategy, using marketing as the primary lever to drive demand, pipeline and revenue growth.
This is a senior leadership role with a clear purpose: to design and execute a growth engine that enables the business to scale. While you will lead and develop the marketing function, your defining accountability is growth.
You will report directly to the Group Managing Director and operate as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, working in close partnership with sales, operations, technology and HR.
Ultimate Goal of the Role
The ultimate goal of this role is to build a predictable, scalable growth engine that consistently delivers high-quality demand and supports the company's commercial ambitions.
In simple terms: to help Staffscanner grow faster, more efficiently and more sustainably.
Primary Accountability: Growth Strategy & Delivery
Your number one priority will be to design, execute and optimise a growth strategy aligned to business objectives. This includes:
• Owning demand generation, lead acquisition and pipeline growth
• Setting direction and priorities across key growth channels (paid, organic, partnerships, CRM)
• Improving funnel efficiency from first touch through to conversion
• Working closely with sales to improve lead quality, velocity and close rates
• Using data, insight and experimentation to drive continuous improvement
Success in this role will be measured by commercial impact and contribution to growth.
Marketing & Team Leadership
Alongside growth delivery, you will:
• Lead and develop the marketing function, including a Marketing Manager and agency partners
• Build a focused, high-performing team aligned to growth priorities
• Ensure brand positioning, messaging and campaigns support commercial objectives
• Make informed decisions on budget allocation to maximise return on investment
You are not expected to do everything yourself, but you are expected to ensure the right work gets done.
What Success Looks Like After 12 Months
By the end of your first year, success in this role is likely to look like:
• A clearly defined and embedded growth strategy aligned to commercial goals
• Measurable improvement in demand generation, lead quality and pipeline contribution
• Clear visibility and reporting on growth performance and ROI
• Strong alignment between marketing, sales and operations
• A confident, capable marketing team with clear focus and priorities
• A brand that supports growth by clearly communicating Staffscanner's value in the market
Working with the Business
You will work as part of the Senior Leadership Team, aligning growth and marketing activity with:
• Group MD on growth priorities, investment and performance
• Sales and Operations on demand planning, capacity and conversion
• Technology and Product on customer journey optimisation
• HR on employer brand where it supports growth, attraction and retention
What We're Looking For
We are looking for a commercially minded growth leader with strong marketing foundations. You are likely to have:
• Significant experience in growth-led or demand-focused marketing roles
• A track record of building or scaling growth and demand generation engines
• Strong commercial instincts and comfort working against revenue and pipeline targets
• Experience leading small teams and managing agencies effectively
• Confidence using CRM, analytics and data to inform decisions
Experience across the full marketing mix is expected. Deep specialism in every area is not.
Why This Role Is Different
• Clear ownership of growth strategy with real leadership influence
• Opportunity to shape how a mission-led business scales
• High levels of autonomy, trust and flexibility
• A senior role with visibility, impact and room to build
