The role

Are you passionate about creating memorable experiences that bring people together and strengthen organisational culture? We’re looking for a creative, enthusiastic individual to join our team and play a key role in planning, coordinating, and delivering a diverse programme of corporate events on behalf of the Chief Constable. These events will engage both internal colleagues and external stakeholders, showcasing our values and vision in action.
Working closely with our Internal Engagement Advisors, you’ll help shape and deliver events that bring our people and communities together. Aligned with our Internal Engagement Strategy and annual forward plan, your work will ensure events are impactful and engaging.
What you’ll do
* Develop and implement a programme of engaging events on behalf of the Chief Constable, including reward and recognition ceremonies, Long Service Awards, and the Force’s Memorial event.
* Deliver effective event planning that supports the priorities outlined in our Internal Engagement Strategy, ensuring timelines are realistic and achievable within the demands of the Force.
* Collaborate with senior stakeholders and departments to embed a consistent approach to event planning and maximise engagement across the organisation.
* Provide timely and detailed creative briefs to the Creative department, ensuring all written content is submitted in line with deadlines and supports the delivery of impactful events.
* Support and coordinate external awards nominations, helping our people achieve the reward and recognition they deserve.
* Work closely with the wider communications and engagement team to develop internal and external engagement plans, offering support and advice on event delivery and messaging.
* Contribute innovative and creative ideas to continuously improve how we engage our people and communities through the Force’s corporate events calendar.

What you’ll bring
Essential:
* Significant experience of organising and co-ordinating corporate events.
* Proficient administration skills to manage general day to day administration in event delivery.
* Excellent written skills to produce content for events.
* Attention to detail to ensure successful event delivery.
* A good level of customer service skills working together with a venues, attendees, and managers to ensure people are informed.
* Demonstrable ability to review the performance of events and evaluate the impact. Be able to resolve problems through a positive solution approach.
* An understanding and commitment to diversity, equality and inclusion.
* Ability to deal discreetly with matters of a sensitive or confidential nature.
* Prepared to work unsociable hours to support engagement activity – when required.
* Have the capability to travel to different locations across the Force area to undertake all assignments in a timely manner. Due to the requirement to work flexibly, unsocial hours and personal safety for lone working; public transport may not be available or suitable at these times. For this reason, a full UK driving licence is considered essential.
Desirable:
* Degree in Event Management (or similar) or demonstrable work experience in hospitality, events or conferences.
* Video creation and editing skills.
* Budget planning skills

This is a permanent subject to a six-month probationary period.
