Role & Responsibilities
* Assist with the design, creation and maintenance of simulations and other information required in support of the delivery of NATS' simulations
* Assist with the design, creation and maintenance of simulated airspace and air traffic simulations; ensure that the agreed customer requirements are delivered and provide support for delivery of simulations
* Support the team's SME and Activity Manager, providing contact with the customer and Simulation Services team; attend progress meetings providing verbal/written progress reports as required
* Provide input to the simulation design process by interpreting requirements and advising the most efficient and effective method to deliver the customers' objectives
* Maintain archives and safe storage of simulations; undertake routine housekeeping to maintain an efficient database and maintain a robust audit process
* Maintain currency with UK FIR airspace and operational interface changes using UK AIP, MATS, SI, OPNOT and other publications
* Maintain a good understanding of NATS' Ace simulator and associated systems to ensure an appreciation of the entire simulation process and it's relationship with the simulation preparation system
* Ensure that application and system faults and observations are reported and addressed using the correct processes
* Act as a mentor and deliver training as required in all aspects of the simulation design process
* Support other NATS units in simulation design as required
* Provide ACPO or FDS support as required
Qualifications & Skills
* An appreciation of NATS' Simulation delivery process and good understanding of UK ATM operations, procedures, airspace including military operations and NAS is a significant advantage
* Experience of working with applications, databases and systems in a technological environment
* An appreciation of different aircraft and their performance
* A good working knowledge of Microsoft applications e.g. Windows, Word & Excel etc; enabling the preparation of reports, spreadsheets, and other documentation in support of the business
* The ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the business
* The ability to assimilate, interpret and apply ATM knowledge in a simulation context to a specified requirement
* Ability to manage ones' allocated activities and core responsibilities effectively within the available time identifying and solving problems and accurately documenting and communicating as required
* An understanding of databases and simulation design within the Ace simulator environment and the ability to swiftly grasp and adapt to the use of new applications and systems
* An analytical and methodical working style with a keen attention to detail
* A motivated self-starter with the ability to multi-task within a team environment and desire to achieve deadlines
* Willingness to be flexible to support shift or day-based activities
* The ability to adapt swiftly to changing systems, situations, and requirements
* Proactive in seeking interaction with varying disciplines throughout, and in support of, NATS' business
