Job Summary
To ensure the safety and security of customers, staff and the premises while supporting the venue's licensing objectives. Door Supervisors are responsible for controlling entry, monitoring behaviour, preventing crime and disorder and responding professionally to incidents in a late-night environment.
Key Responsibilities
Security & Safety
* Control entry and exit to the premises in accordance with venue policy and capacity limits.
* Monitor customer behaviour inside and outside the venue to prevent crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour.
* Carry out regular patrols of internal and external areas, including smoking and queuing areas.
* Respond promptly and professionally to incidents, conflicts, or emergencies, using conflict management techniques.
* Liaise with emergency services and venue management when required.
Licensing & Compliance
* Enforce Challenge 25 and refuse entry or service where appropriate.
* Support the venue's licensing objectives, including prevention of crime and disorder and public safety.
* Complete incident logs, refusal registers and other required documentation accurately.
* Work in accordance with SIA legislation, licensing conditions and venue policies.
Customer Interaction
* Provide a professional, polite and approachable presence at all times.
* Manage queues calmly and efficiently, ensuring customer safety and a positive first impression of the venue.
* Deal with customer queries, complaints, or refusals in a calm and respectful manner.
Teamwork & Communication
* Work closely with bar staff, management and other Door Supervisors to maintain a safe environment.
* Communicate clearly with the Duty Manager or DPS regarding incidents or concerns.
* Attend briefings and follow shift instructions and risk assessments.
Essential
* Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
* Excellent communication and conflict management skills.
* Professional appearance and calm demeanour under pressure.
* Ability to work late nights, weekends and early-morning finishes.
* Ability to make your own way home following late finishes.
Desirable
* Previous experience in a nightclub or late-night venue.
* First Aid qualification (or willingness to undertake training).
* Knowledge of local licensing conditions and venue policies.
Working Conditions

Pay: £14.00-£16.30 per hour
Expected hours: 5 – 20 per week
