Job Title: CAD Technician (Packages)

Location: Gloucester
Hours of Work: 42.5 per week
Reports To: Technical & Engineering Manager
Purpose of Role:
The CAD Technician will compile drawings and CAD models of standard and customer-specific pump system designs, along with other CAD-related tasks. The role involves serving customer needs with attention to detail and high-quality output, supporting new product development, continuous improvement projects, product approval drawings, and technical projects that enhance our product range.
Team Function:
With the growth of data centres and district heating, this market is expected to expand significantly. Our team focuses on technical specification, overcoming challenges, and supporting sales through custom designs, quotations, and as-built drawings.
Responsibilities:
* Complete customer approval drawings, including pre-sale layouts, post-sale approval drawings, detailed production drawings, BoMs, and as-built drawings.
* Perform SolidWorks CAD tasks, manage the parts library, model new parts, and create standard product drawings.
* Manage and execute engineering projects from start to finish.
* Support management of engineering change requests.
* Prepare drawings and CAD outputs for documentation such as datasheets, selection guides, exploded views, O&M manuals, and schematic drawings (P&IDs).
Measures of Success:
* Drawing accuracy
* Meeting project milestones
* Effective implementation of engineering change notices
Knowledge and Skills:
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering
* Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD
* Knowledge of sheet metal and general metal fabrication design is advantageous
* Experience with Product Lifecycle Management systems is advantageous
* Mechanical pipework knowledge is advantageous
