We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and motivated Registered Manager to lead a 3-bed EBD (Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties) children’s home in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for someone committed to delivering high-quality care through a child-centred, therapeutic approach that promotes positive outcomes.
As the Registered Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the running of the home, ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations, leading and developing the staff team, and maintaining the highest standards of safeguarding and therapeutic care.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for children with EBD
* Lead and manage a team of support workers, ensuring therapeutic care practices are delivered consistently
* Ensure full compliance with Ofsted and the Children’s Homes Regulations
* Develop and maintain individualised care plans and risk assessments
* Promote continuous improvement, reflective practice, and professional development within the team
* Manage budgets, staffing, and resources effectively to ensure sustainability
* Build and maintain strong partnerships with local authorities, external professionals, and families
* Safeguard and promote the welfare of children at all times
Requirements
* NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent – essential)
* Minimum of 2 years’ management or deputy management experience in a children’s residential setting
* Strong knowledge of EBD, attachment, safeguarding, and trauma-informed care
* Track record of achieving or maintaining ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted ratings
* Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
* Full UK driving licence (preferred but not essential)
