Overview
We are seeking Senior and Principal Flood Risk Modellers to join WSP's Sustainable Water Management Team. You will contribute to delivering flood risk modelling across a national programme of work, provide technical leadership, mentor junior modellers, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and clients to deliver high‑quality projects.
A Little More About Your Role
* Provide technical leadership for fluvial and pluvial modelling projects, with experience using flood modelling software such as Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, HEC-RAS or ICM.
* Coordinate and manage flood modelling studies within cross-disciplinary teams.
* Scope and develop hydraulic modelling approaches; undertake technical reviews of hydraulic models.
* Prepare technical reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
* Mentor and develop others in fluvial and pluvial modelling.
* Support business development by identifying prospective opportunities and leading on the preparation of proposals.
* Provide project, commercial and financial management for projects and maintain client relationships.
* Undertake client and stakeholder liaison to ensure delivery aligns with client needs.
What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate
* Proven track record in undertaking fluvial and pluvial hydraulic modelling.
* Provide technical leadership in flood modelling within teams.
* Experience of undertaking model reviews for statutory bodies.
* Commercial experience, including project management and bid preparation.
* Ability to work within multidisciplinary teams and deliver infrastructure projects or work with local authorities or national government.
* Drive and ability to build client relationships and develop suitable opportunities.
* Excellent written and verbal communication.
* Chartership with a relevant professional body (or commitment to work towards within an agreed period).
* Desirable: GIS; FCERM studies; Flood Risk Assessments; knowledge of UK flood risk policy (NPPF and TAN 15); UK flood estimation methods.
