Position: Handy Person (Odd Job and Repairs) Location: Various Locations Across North West (Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale etc) Contract : Locum Salary: Manchester - £13.78 Per Hour, Other Locations (Regional) - £12.24 Per Hour Closing Date: Wednesday 9th July About the Role The Depaul North West services (Oldham, Manchester, Stockport and Rochdale) require an ad-hoc ‘handy person’ who can support homeless accommodations with tasks such as (this list is not exhaustive).: Wall papering Painting Rubbish removal Hanging curtain rails Filling and plastering holes in walls Assembling furniture or equipment General cleaning Clearing and removing furniture Garden maintenance The services will contact you when they need any maintenance work completed. Also, the needs of the service will determine how frequently you will be required. Key responsibilities include: You will complete minor repairs in the North West accommodations, maintain an accurate log of works and report repairs beyond own remit to management at the accommodations Depending on the work required you may need to complete void checks and contribute to the coordination and completion of works to prepare properties for re-let. You will arrange and allow access to properties for landlord/contractors/suppliers when necessary You will ensure that project properties are painted and decorated to a high standard You will remove and appropriately dispose of rubbish, broken furniture and residents belongings from properties where required following Depaul procedures You will carry out cleaning of internal and external communal areas and gardens, including litter picking About You To be successful in the role of Pathway Manager you will need to have the following skills and experience: Proven experience of working in a similar role with competence in cleaning, deep cleaning, simple repairs, property maintenance, decorating and grounds maintenance. Able to organise and prioritise own workload effectively and without the need of close supervision Have an understanding of the needs of vulnerable young people and families Have a clean driving licence and access to/use of a car or van with appropriate insurance Able to carry and handle equipment and other heavy items Able to show initiative and be pro -active in problem solving Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills Experience of operating safeguarding requirements and procedures
