UX Designer - Glasgow
We're looking for a talented UX Designer to join Phlo in a full-time, permanent role as we continue to grow our UX team. You'll work closely with product managers, engineers, researchers and stakeholders to create intuitive digital experiences that help make managing health simpler. You'll have the freedom to shape solutions, solve meaningful problems and design products that make a real difference to the people who use them every day.

The Job
On a day-to-day basis, you’ll be involved in the following:
* Work as part of a squad with product owners, engineersand testers, while also coming together with the wider design team.
* Drive the design process for specific features or product areas, from discovery to delivery.
* Create wireframes, user flows and high-fidelity prototypes that meet user needs and business goals.
* Select and apply appropriate UXmethods (e.g. journey mapping, usability testing) with guidance where needed.
* Use and contribute to the design system, suggesting new components or refinements.
* Conduct or support user research activities (e.g. usability testing, internal interviews), synthesising findings into actionable insights.
* Collaborate closely with product owners to define problems, shape scope and iterate on solutions.
* Present work in design reviews, team stand-ups or stakeholder sessions.
* Incorporate feedback from peers, users and cross-functional partners, balancing design quality with delivery speed.
* Ensure designs meet accessibility and responsive standards and raise implementation issues when needed.
* Maintain up-to-date and well-organised design files, documentation and handover notes for team visibility and developer clarity.
* Contribute to improving team design practices and processes (e.g.ways of working, critique, design QA, workflow tools).
* Define and track the metrics that tell us whether a design is working and refine it based on the evidence.
* We work fast and evolve constantly. We expect our designers to use AI tooling to prototype, explore and refine - not as a gimmick, but as a natural part of the design process
The Person
Ideally, we’re looking for someone with the following:
* Experience in a UX or product design role
* Experience working in an Agile Product Development team
* Deep understanding of UX processes, UI patterns and creating UI design deliverables
* Comfortable presenting work to the team and wider organisation
* Working knowledge of responsive design, strong typographic skills including layout, form and hierarchy and excellent attention to detail
* Confident in Figma
* Use AI tools to accelerate your workflow - from research synthesis and ideation to rapid prototyping and production-ready handoff (experience in Claude Code/Design preferred).
* Working knowledge of other industry toolsis a bonus
* Effective time management and organisational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously
* A passionfor mobile app and web design, digitalaccessibilityand the digital healthcare sector
* Committed to coming into our Glasgow office once per week for team days

We’re headquartered in the Onyx building on Bothwell St in Glasgow City Centre. While this role is predominantly remote, we support a blend of in-person collaboration and flexible hybrid working.
