About This Role

We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a passionate and driven Director of Learning for Ethics to join our team. If you have a love for Ethics that’s both infectious and inspiring, paired with deep subject knowledge, we want to hear from you.

The successful candidate will be a passionate teacher with expertise in Politics at Key Stage 5 and the leadership skills to head a diverse Ethics faculty, including Religious Studies, Citizenship and PSHE/RSE. You will provide clear direction and support colleagues to deliver engaging lessons that help all students achieve their best.

You will also lead PSHE/RSE across the academy through the Active Tutor and assembly programme, working with the Assistant Principal for Personal Development to ensure statutory RSE guidance is met. You will be responsible for managing faculty resources, developing staff, monitoring student progress, and ensuring consistently high standards across all subjects.

As leader of our dedicated Ethics department, you will enjoy outstanding support and professional development opportunities within both our academy and the wider Trust. This is your chance to thrive in a collaborative environment where your expertise will help shape a curriculum that’s both innovative and research-driven.

Our vision is to ensure that every child in our care has the opportunity to excel, regardless of their background or ability. At de Ferrers, we live by the values of working hard, being kind, and choosing wisely. We take pride in positively shaping the lives and futures of our students each day.

If you are passionate about education, committed to student success, and excited about creating meaningful opportunities for young people, this role is your chance to make a lasting impact.

Join us in shaping bright futures and inspiring the next generation. Together, we can make a difference!

32.5 hours per week, 52.143 working weeks per year.
