Refuse Loader / Waste Operative / Recycling Operative
Location: Eckington
Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour increasing to £13.05 after 13 weeks' service
Job Type: Ongoing, possibility of temp to perm
Hours: 37–42 hours per week
Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are recruiting for Refuse Loaders and Waste Operatives to work with a local council across Chesterfield / Sheffield.
This is a physically demanding, outdoor role ideal for candidates with experience in labouring, waste collection, recycling, or other hands-on roles.
Refuse Loader Duties:
* Collecting household waste and recycling bins
* Loading refuse and recycling into collection vehicles
* Working as part of a waste collection team
* Completing daily collection routes
* Supporting street cleansing and environmental services
* Manual handling and lifting throughout the shift
* Walking long distances (up to 20,000 steps per day)
Requirements:
* Experience in labouring, warehouse, refuse collection, or outdoor work preferred
* Physically fit and able to carry out manual handling
* Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
* Reliable and able to commit to full-time hours
* Own transport is desirable - need to commute to site for early starts
* PPE required (safety boots and hi-vis)
Hours & Pay:
* £12.71 (increasing to £13.05 after 13 weeks service)
* 37–42 hours per week
* 06.30am-3.00pm (potential requirement for 07.00am-4.00pm whilst training)
* Ongoing, full-time work for 26–38 weeks
