A fast-growing and innovative business based near Hull is currently recruiting for a Finance Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis. On offer is a salary of £28,000 to £35,000 (depending on experience), alongside an excellent benefits package; employee health insurance, bonus scheme, 32 days annual leave which increases with service and more.
As a Finance Assistant, you will be involved in a wide range of finance tasks supporting both UK and international operations, including:
* Managing Accounts Receivable, including invoicing, customer account management, and proactive credit control
* Supporting Accounts Payable processes, including reconciliations and aged creditor analysis
* Assisting with bank reconciliations and intercompany postings
* Helping with VAT return preparation and submission for the UK entity
* Contributing to the month-end process and preparation of management accounts
* Playing a key role in ongoing process improvement and system development projects
* Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc tasks as required by the business
To be successful in this Finance Assistant role, you will ideally have:
* A minimum of 3 years' experience in a finance-based role
* Strong Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, reconciliations, etc.)
* A proactive, organised approach with the ability to manage competing priorities
* Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills – confident in liaising with internal and external stakeholders
* A growth mindset, with a willingness to contribute ideas and improve processes
Desirable qualities include:
* Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
* Exposure to international or multi-entity finance environments
* Studying towards or qualified in AAT
