We help organisations modernise their IT, communications, and network infrastructure — delivering secure, scalable, and high-performance solutions that make a real difference.
Backed by a new investment partnership, Croft is entering an exciting phase of accelerated growth. This support strengthens our capabilities, expands our reach, and enables us to deliver even greater value to our customers and partners.
The Role
We're looking for a Desk-Based Account Manager to manage and grow a portfolio of customer accounts through proactive engagement, strong relationship building, and effective sales activity.
Operating primarily across phone, email, and digital channels, you'll ensure customers receive excellent service, timely solutions, and tailored recommendations. You'll play a key role in retaining clients, identifying growth opportunities, and supporting the wider sales strategy — without the need for regular face-to-face interaction.
If you're commercially minded, customer-focused, and motivated by building long-term partnerships, this role is for you.
What You'll Do
* Manage an assigned portfolio of customer accounts, building strong and trusted relationships.
* Act as the first point of contact for client queries, ensuring prompt resolution and owning issues from start to finish.
* Proactively identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and contract renewals, collaborating with wider sales teams to deliver future-proof solutions.
* Maintain regular, structured communication with customers to build loyalty and enhance customer satisfaction.
* Develop a strong understanding of client needs, industry trends, and competitor activity.
* Work closely with field-service managers and internal teams to ensure consistent service delivery.
* Support customer onboarding and work with project teams to ensure seamless transitions.
* Achieve and exceed sales and retention targets.
* Maintain accurate records of client interactions, sales activity, and pipeline data within the CRM system.
* Produce reports, forecasts, and account reviews for leadership stakeholders.
* Review service desk activity across your customer portfolio to identify recurring issues and opportunities for improvement.
What You'll Bring
* Some experience in customer‑facing, sales support or service roles (retail, hospitality, customer service, or early-stage B2B roles all relevant).
* A genuine interest in developing a career in sales and account management.
* Strong communication skills and confidence in speaking with customers.
* Ability to build positive relationships and understand customer needs.
* Good organisation and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks.
* Comfortable working with systems and technology (CRM experience is a bonus but not required; training will be provided).
* A proactive approach, c* and a growth mindset*.
Preferred Qualifications
* Education to A‑Level or equivalent; degree not required.
* Any exposure to sales, customer service or administrative roles (B2B or B2C).
* Interest in developing skills in account management, customer success or sales.
* Willingness to undertake relevant training and professional development (e.g., internal sales training, product training, CRM training).
* Curiosity about telecoms or technology — experience is not required; we will teach you.
Who You Are
* Customer-obsessed — focused on outcomes that create real value, not just activity.
* Proactive and accountable — you take ownership and fix issues quickly.
* Growth-minded — always looking for better ways to work and improve.
* Collaborative — you share knowledge and help others succeed.
* Commercially aware — confident identifying opportunities and negotiating effectively.
