We are working with a fast growing construction business embarking on an exciting journey to recruit a Procurement Manager that can enable them to establish an in house procurement function that will be critical to them enabling the business to continue to scale and grow at pace. You will manage the day to day adhoc procurement of office supplies including stationary, fuel cards and suppliers through to procuring niche products from Manufacturers in China .
The Procurement Manager will implement processes, and build strong supplier relationships that will drive value across the business, managing a current spend c£4million per annum that is expected to double over the next 2 years.
This role really suits an experienced procurement professional that is comfortable managing that size of spend and would enjoy the challenge of creating an in house procurement function in a high growth fast paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Establish policies, procedures, and systems for efficient procurement operations.
* Negotiate contracts and manage supplier performance via the implementation of KPI's to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
* Collaborate with project teams to forecast demand and manage supply chain risks.
* Drive continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives within procurement.
What We’re Looking For:
* Proven experience in procurement ideally within the construction industry but not essential
* Strong negotiation and supplier management skills including experience with import and export in Asia
* Ability to build a procurement function from scratch, including systems and processes.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
* Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach.
