Job Summary
Bradford Council aims to ensure that young people can access a range of activities that take place in safe spaces, where young people can develop a sense of belonging, socialise with their peers and develop relationships with adults they can trust.
Bradford Council is seeking to appoint a Youth Support Worker who will support on the delivery of the Youth Offer as part of an area team, working multiple evenings each week.
Post-holders will be required to work between the hours of 5pm – 9pm multiple evenings each week and some weekends.

Main Responsibilities
•Welcome and assist customers in person, by phone, or online, offering friendly support with library and digital services.
•Register new customers, issue and return items, answer enquiries, and help people use library resources.
•Support the Area Manager by supervising staff/volunteers, arranging cover, and keeping stock tidy and well presented.
•Help plan and deliver community activities in the library that promote wellbeing and bring people together.
•Work as part of a team to maintain high standards of customer care and communication.
Essential Skills
•Work with young people in different settings, helping them build skills and confidence.
•Support group activities, encourage participation, and promote equality and inclusion.
•Keep information safe and follow health, safety, and safeguarding rules.
•Use basic IT packages and work as part of a team to deliver youth work.
•Be flexible and available to work several evenings each week.
