About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Five Wells, a Category C Prison located in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.
The prison has its own pharmacy on site with 7 wings, each with a medical admin.
Our Pharmacy team is currently made up of 1 Pharmacy Manager, 3 Pharmacists, 2 Senior Pharmacy Technicians, 4 Pharmacy Technicians, and 4 Pharmacy assistants.
Hours & Shift Pattern
Full time, 37.5 hours per week. Shift pattern currently: Week1 – Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday; Week2 – Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. You will also have the option to work one weekend in four.
Salary
Annual salary between £34,428 and £41,658, depending on experience.

* Assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high-quality prison pharmaceutical service, maintaining a high level of security.
* Work within the healthcare department and hold direct patient contact as part of a comprehensive healthcare package, based on the prison service’s needs.
* Promote safe patient care.
* Develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.

What We’ll Look For in You
* Hold NVQ Level 3, BTEC, or equivalent qualifications and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
* Relevant post‑qualification experience working within a pharmacy environment and with a multidisciplinary team.
* Ability to work within a busy environment.
* Ability to work unsupervised while following policy and procedures.
* Experience in hospital, community or prison environments is ideal but not essential.
