Job Description
Maintenance Engineer | £42,000 + Overtime | Wigan | 3x Shift (Earlies/Lates/Nights)
gap technical are proud to be representing this global manufacturing business in their search for a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer with Electrical bias to work at their facility based near Wigan.
Performance Objectives
* Perform reactive and preventative maintenance on machinery and site utilities.
* Carry out electrical & some mechanical maintenance tasks.
* Support equipment installations and upgrades.
* Drive uptime and reliability by quickly resolving breakdowns.
* Uphold Food Safety, Health & Safety, and Hygiene standards.
* Collaborate with internal departments for effective communication and minimal disruption.
* Identify and implement engineering improvements.
Person Specification
* HNC in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
* Served apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering.
* Solid understanding of health & safety and food safety regulations.
* Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
* A problem‑solving, hands‑on approach and continuous improvement mindset.
* FMCG/Food experience.
* Experience working on PLCs – Mitsubishi & Siemens.
