Hourly Rate - £13.12.
Vacancies have arisen for Catering Assistants within the authority's Clydebank area. Preference of location will be discussed at the interview.
The post holder will assist in the day-to-day operational requirements of the catering service within this premise. The successful candidate should be able to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team.
Responsibilities include assisting in basic food preparation and service of all foods in compliance with the Nutritional Requirements for Food and Drinks in schools (Scotland) regulations 2008, adhering to all relevant legislation, and setting up/clearing away equipment for food service. The post holder's duties will also include general cleaning to a high standard, including crockery, cutlery, kitchen utensils, kitchen and dining room areas, staff rest room, and toilets.
Applicants must hold an Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate or a similar qualification as this is an essential requirement.
The post holder will need to adhere to Food Safety Systems, Safe Systems of Work, and Health and Safety Legislation. Knowledge of such legislation would be advantageous, as would previous experience in this type of work.
Requirements
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2020. Membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details can be found here.
Preferred applicants will be required to join the PVG scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check before a formal offer is made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
Responsibilities
