We are looking for a skilledYardpersonto join our client's team. This is a hands-on role, central to the smooth and safe running of our yard operations. Youll be responsible for ensuring materials are handled efficiently, with a particular focus onchemical handling and tanker offloading.
Monday-Friday 05:50-14:00 - £16 - £17/h + enhanced overtime rate
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out all site activities safely, following company procedures and COMAH regulations.
* Conduct site opening/closing procedures including security checks and equipment inspections.
* Promote a strong safety culture through hazard awareness, reporting, and mitigation.
* Load and unload inbound and outbound deliveries, includingtanker offloading.
* Operate a forklift to move, load, and store materials.
* Keep the yard clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
* Perform regular inspections to identify hazards or maintenance needs.
* Check delivery notes and maintain accurate records/logs.
* Ensure system reporting (SAP, Redzone) is accurate and timely.
* Liaise with supervisors and team members to provide updates and escalate issues where needed.
What Were Looking For
* Experience withtanker offloading(essential).
* Chemical handlingexperience (essential).
* ValidFLT licence.
* Solid understanding of production processes, safety regulations, and equipment protocols.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
* A proactive team player with the ability to work independently when required.
* Calm under pressure with a positive, flexible, and logical approach.
* Good communication skills (written and verbal), computer literate, and numerate.
* Commitment to continuous learning, self-development, and progression.
* Previous experience in aCOMAH environment(advantageous).
