Job description
These roles sit at the heart of Defence's data transformation, providing expert analytical support and strategic guidance across Defence, the UK Government, and its partners, suppliers, and allies. You'll help shape a unified, forward-looking view of Defence's data needs, uncover opportunities for data exploitation, and drive value through innovative insights.
You'll be responsible for building and managing strong relationships across internal and external stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor on cutting-edge topics such as Agile Data Science, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence. Your expertise will help define the strategic direction for enabling machine-ready data, unlocking the potential of emerging technologies to solve complex information, business, and operational challenges.
In this role you will:
* Analyse and interpret business requirements and user needs to inform the development of digital products and services, ensuring clear acceptance criteria are defined and delivery aligns with strategic objectives.
* Contribute to shaping future business models by supporting business process re-engineering and helping link current operations to long-term service vision and goals.
* Identify and assess opportunities for improvement, exploring feasible options, analysing the impact of change, and defining measurable success outcomes.
* Support the adoption of innovative data approaches, including machine-ready data, analytics, and Artifical Intelligence, to unlock transformational value and enhance decision-making across Defence.
* Build and maintain effective working relationships with operational teams, business units, and external partners to ensure continuous delivery of operational advantage and business value.
* Lead and support delivery phases from discovery through alpha, beta, and live, contributing to a portfolio of services with a focus on Agile data science, digital-first thinking, and continuous improvement.
