Your new role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Project Manager to lead and deliver a diverse portfolio of projects 2 of which are more HR focused and one within the information technology space.
You will work across departments, stakeholders, and external partners to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional with strong organisational,munication, and leadership skills to make a meaningful impact in the public sector.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the planning, execution, monitoring and closure of assigned projects.
2. Develop and maintain project documentation including business cases, plans, risk logs, and benefits realisation frameworks.
3. Ensure projects adhere to PRINCE2 / AMP methodologies andernance requirements
4. Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation effectively.
5. Coordinate internal teams and engage with stakeholders, partners, and contractors.
6. Report progress to senior managers and project boards, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
7. Identify and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies to keep projects on track.
8. Promote continuous improvement and contribute to the development of project management practices across the council.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be an organised and confident professional able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a strong customer- andmunity-focused approach.
Essential criteria:
9. PRINCE2 Practitioner / AMP qualification
10. Proven track record of delivering projects in aplex organisation, ideally within the public sector
11. Excellent stakeholder management andmunication skills
12. Strong analytical, planning, and problem‑solving abilities
13. Ability to work independently and collaboratively
14. Experience in budget management and business case development
What you'll get in return
£350 - £400 per day
Hybrid working (1 day per week or 1 per fortnight)
