Overview
Our client is seeking a Production Planner to join their team in a fast paced manufacturing environment, supporting the coordination and optimisation of production activities to meet customer demand and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities of a Production Planner
. Ensure work is loaded in the most efficient manner, maintaining customer delivery dates.
. Maintain up to date tracking of live works orders.
. Produce weekly and monthly forward loading for machining and finishing operations, including deburring, inspection, packing and despatch.
. Monitor progress against the production schedule, working closely with CNC machinists to proactively manage delays and maintain output targets.
. Physically move jobs through production processes in a timely manner.
. Ensure subcontract requirements and raw materials are issued and allocated correctly and on time.
. Maintain accurate Bills of Materials, including set and cycle times.
. Identify production constraints within CNC machining and wider manufacturing processes, working with shop floor teams to resolve issues.
. Monitor KPIs, production performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
. Complete administration within SAGE 200 and Preactor systems.
. Ensure compliance with quality standards, including ISO 13485.
Key Skills of a Production Planner
. Proven experience in Production Planning within a fast paced manufacturing environment is essential.
. Strong exposure to CNC machining processes is essential, either from a previous role as a CNC Machinist or Setter Operator, or direct planning experience within a CNC environment.
. Strong understanding of machining workflows, production scheduling and capacity planning.
. Experience with lean manufacturing and process improvement is desirable.
. Strong problem solving skills with a focus on efficiency and output.
. Strong IT skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
. Experience with SAGE 200 or IFS is desirable, training can be provided.
. Educated to A Level standard or equivalent, or above.
