Offer description

The Kaleidoscope Plus Group (KPG) has been championing mental health and wellbeing since 1973, with a vision to improve emotional health and transform lives across the UK.

We are on a mission to ensure everyone has access to the emotional wellbeing support they need to lead a healthy and rewarding life, whether this is an individual in our Residential Home, a user of our Support Services, or someone going through one of our training programmes.

We have around 70 employees based in and around our Headquarters in West Bromwich.

Our Board is made up of committed Trustees from every walk of life, who control the management and administration of this amazing charity. We hold quarterly Board Meetings and each Trustee sits on one of our three committees – People and Culture, Finance Audit and Risk, Clinical Governance – who also meet quarterly.

As a Trustee, you will be genuinely driven by the work of KPG and able to display a commitment to our ethos, aims, and objectives. You will have the natural ability to operate at a strategic level and engage with a broad spectrum of people. Whilst the role is unpaid, you will benefit from Governance and Mental Health First Aid training.

Reporting to the Chair of the Board, the role of a Trustee is:

1. to support the operational management of the organisation

4. to ensure accountability
5. to set up employment procedures and respect the roles of staff/volunteers
6. to draw up and monitor the implementation of internal policies
7. to ensure that risk assessments for all aspects of the business are carried out
8. to safeguard the good name and values of Kaleidoscope Plus Group
9. to maintain effective board performance and ensure the effective and efficient administration of the charity including funding, insurance and premises
10. to act in the best interests of the charity, not in the interests of yourself or another organisation
11. to sit on appraisal, recruitment, disciplinary or grievance panels as required

All Trustees must fulfil the statutory role and duties of a Trustee as set out in Appendix A and will undergo a DBS check.
