Job Title: Platform Engineer (Azure / Terraform)

Our systems connect and manage content for anything from displays on trains and platforms, train operator control centres, driver advisory systems, to train signalling systems and everything in between. With expertise in customer information software and electronics we are uniquely placed to offer end to end solutions from platform to train.
We are looking for a Platform Engineer to support our cloud engineering team in building, maintaining, and expanding our Azure Landing Zone environment.
You will work closely with the Software Manager to adapt and create Terraform scripts, extend our Azure Landing Zone Accelerator, and assist in migrating workloads from third-party hosting environments into Azure.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in cloud infrastructure and automation in enterprise-grade Azure environments, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and cloud migration projects.
Required Skills & Experience
1. 3-5 years of experience in a platform, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure role.
2. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Azure, including resource groups, virtual networks, VMs, and storage.
3. Proficient with Terraform (writing and updating .tf files, using variables and modules).
4. Working knowledge of version control (Git) and CI/CD workflows.
5. Extensive experience in using PowerShell or Bash for automation tasks.
6. In depth understanding of networking (IP addressing, VPNs, DNS, subnets).
7. Experienced in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or containerized workloads.
8. Experience of Cloud Adoption Framework aligned Azure Landing Zones.
9. Experience of security and compliance principles in cloud environments.
10. Detailed understanding of DevOps pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
