The Responsibilities Of The Reporting Accountant Will Include
* Support production of the monthly GPA and budget holder management accounts to tight deadlines.
* Analysing financial performance to identify variances and ensuring transactions are accounted for correctly.
* Support the Financial Planning and Analysis team during the annual budget setting process.
* Support continuous process efficiencies and improvements across the function.
* Facilitating ad hoc reporting including Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.
* Identifying trends, risks and opportunities in the financial data.
* Build relationships with key staff across Finance and the business in order to maintain effectiveness and relevance during change.
Essential
Key Skills & Experience
* Experience of management accounting
* Strong attention to detail and ability to analyse and interpret significant amounts of financial data, including via use of technological solutions and tools such as AI
* Strong focus on meeting stakeholder needs
* Ability to seek out new information and self-develop
* Experience of using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
* Proficient using Microsoft Excel
Desirable
* Good experience of management accounting in a public sector context
* Good experience Power BI
