Salary: £40,600 – £43,700 (depending on experience) + 6% performance bonus

Job summary:
As a Building Inspector, you will be a key member of our inspection service team, collaborating with registered builders to ensure homes meet NHBC Standards and Building Regulations, and thrive under your expert guidance.

What you’ll be doing
Based from home but out and about daily, you’ll work with registered builders to ensure new homes meet NHBC Standards, Building Regulations, and relevant legislation. You will build excellent relationships with site managers, helping to identify and prevent construction defects. Your role is vital in managing insurance risk and creating high-quality homes for buyers.
You will receive full training and ongoing support from your line manager and team. You’ll control your own diary and have the autonomy to perform your duties effectively. Your workday begins when you leave home, and we do not require weekend work to maintain a healthy work/life balance.
What we are looking for
* Relevant house-building or construction experience
* Strong communication skills, ability to build rapport and credibility
* Assertiveness in influence and conflict resolution
* Ability to gather and analyze information for decision-making
* Understanding of the house building process and trades interactions
* Physical capability to visit construction sites, including working at heights
* Interest in industry standards, standards, and developments
* Focus on customer satisfaction and quality service
Education and Qualifications
* Construction-related qualification such as City and Guilds, HNC, HND, NVQ, or equivalent (preferred)
* Full driving license required
NHBC Building Safety Regulator Framework
NHBC supports technical staff with registration with the Building Safety Regulator, including training and development. NHBC funds assessment schemes and registration costs.
