You will handle a complex caseload of adult social care matters while supporting the wider team.Key responsibilities include:
* Manage a busy caseload of adult social care litigation matters
* Handle Court of Protection work, including Section 21A and welfare applications
* Provide legal advice on the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Section 117 Mental Health Act
* Draft legal documents and undertake advocacy where required
* Advise internal stakeholders across the organisation
* Liaise with external counsel and relevant bodies
* Support team management and contribute to service delivery
* Deliver updates or training on relevant legal developments
Essential Requirements
* Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive
* Strong experience in Adult Social Care law
* Experience handling Court of Protection matters
* Proven litigation experience (ideally within a local authority)
* Ability to manage a complex caseload independently
* Strong advocacy, drafting, and communication skills
* Some supervisory or management experience
Preferred Skills & Experience
* Previous local government experience
* Understanding of local authority processes and governance
