You’ll be paid a salary between £30,000 and £35,000 depending on experience and receive 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays. What you’ll do on a typical day:
* Responsible for both Wincanton and Customer period ends which involves prepayment and accrual journals
* Be a subject matter expert for your area understanding and explaining variances to forecast, along with P&L analysis offering insight on underlying trends
* Balance Sheet reconciliation with supporting evidence for any accruals, provisions or deferrals including payroll reconciliations and produce weekly flash accounts for site
* Assisting in the production of annual budget and forecasts, modelling of the costs of resources and explanation of variances to previous forecasts or actuals
* Providing cover for the site Finance Manager, assisting them in controlling all aspects of the Finance function ensuring accurate and timely reporting both to Screwfix and Wincanton
What you need to succeed at GXO:
* The successful candidate will have positive personality with a can-do attitude, a questioning mind who is happy to challenge back the operation when reviewing costs to find the right answer
* Self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to work accurately under pressure, plus flexible to the needs of the business during key reporting periods
* Ability to work under his/her own initiative as well as part of the team
* Demonstrate and possess an excellent & diverse range of PC skills, in particular MS excel
* Has experience of a logistics business & is currently working in finance/accounting and as a minimum, completed their AAT qualification
