The University of Reading is seeking to appoint a Project Manager to lead the delivery of a diverse portfolio of campus development projects to create an outstanding campus environment across the University’s estate.

The University has a significant operational estate portfolio consists of more than 200 buildings and over 250,000m2 of space, spanning academic, research, enterprise, sport, recreation and residential buildings and facilities. It also has an investment portfolio comprises an incredibly diverse variety of land and property including commercial, residential, innovation & enterprise, research & development, industrial, retail and rural space. We have over 500 tenants ranging from multi-national corporations to individual partners.


The Campus Development Project Manager is responsible for managing capital and revenue projects across the university estate. These projects typically comprise new-build, refurbishment, infrastructure and strategic maintenance projects across a diverse range of buildings and estates including research facilities, teaching facilities, listed buildings, social and recreational space, commercial space, farms, and external realm areas. You will manage projects from inception to completion, leading external teams and liaising with internal university stakeholders.


We are seeking candidates that have proven experience of delivering a wide range of construction-related projects from feasibility to handover, with experience of projects in the £500k to £5m value range. The role would suit individuals either in client-side or consultant project manager roles currently, or those in project architect or building surveying roles aspiring to progress into a client-side project management career.
