SEND Support Worker – School Based (Young People)
Milk Education is working with a large SEND specialist provision in the Liverpool area to recruit SEND Support Workers who genuinely want to make a positive difference in the lives of children and young people with a range of profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD).
This is a great opportunity for a new or experienced educator to become a familiar face in a school where staffing, culture and community go hand in hand.

SEND Support Worker Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide consistent 1:1 and small group support for pupils aged from 5 – 19 years old with a range of PMLD
2. Support with the delivery of Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs)
3. Encourage emotional wellbeing, communication and social development
4. Communicate clearly and respectfully with teachers, other school staff and external professionals
5. Support with personal care if and when required: Moving and Handling, Toileting, PEG Feeding, etc. (training provided)
6. Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment for all
SEND Support Worker Person Specification:
7. Experienced Support Workers who are open to working with children would fit this role perfectly due to the complex needs of the children who attend this school
8. Previous experience adminstering personal care is advantaegous
9. A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
10. A patient, caring and non-judgemental approach to supporting others
11. Strong communication skills, with the ability to adapt to individual needs
12. Ability to work proactively, both independently and as part of a team
13. An Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service (or willingness to apply)
