Job Title: Contract Engineer
Rate: £75,000 - £100,000 depending on experience
Length: 3-year Fixed Term Contract, with Permanent opportunities

Role Overview:
As a Contract Engineer with this client, you will play a pivotal role in managing and executing engineering and automated materials handling projects on a contractual basis. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to navigate complex contractual agreements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Contract Development and Negotiation: Craft detailed contracts outlining project scope, timelines, costs, and deliverables.
2. Project Management: Oversee engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to contractual terms and client expectations.
3. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them throughout the project lifecycle.
4. Client Relationship Management: Maintain positive interactions with clients to facilitate smooth project execution and address any grievances effectively.
5. Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all project activities adhere to contractual agreements and industry standards. Create organized summaries of essential clauses for easy reference.
6. Collaboration: Work closely with various teams, including architects, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, to align project goals and ensure successful outcomes.
7. Financial Management: Monitor project budgets and ensure financial objectives are met.
8. Programme Management: Review and collaborate on Vendor and Client construction and fit-out programmes, monitor progress, highlight risks, and mitigate issues.
9. Change & Cost Management: Manage changes throughout the contract period, audit and validate claims, and manage the approvals process. Process requests for performance and stage payments.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
* Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desirable.
* Proven experience in contract engineering or a similar role.
* Strong understanding of contractual terms and conditions e.g., MF1 or NEC.
* Ability to analyse complex technical drawings and legal documents.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
