Total hours per week: 40 Expected duration 12 Months Possible start date 01 Aug 2024 Date posted 03 May 2024 Apprenticeship level Intermediate Level 2 (GCSE) Reference number VAC1000248740 Positions 1 available What you will do in your working day Health & Safety / Environmental • Assist the QHSE Manager in training shopfloor personnel (through tool box talks) on items identified on internal Risk Assessments. • Assist with internal audits (in line with the Companies ISO45001 OHS / ISO 14001 management system. • Generating COSHH forms for new substances Quality Assist the Production Quality Engineer(s) in the following activities: • Generating Operator Quality Instructions (OQI’s) for use on the shopfloor • Make decisions on the quality standard of parts produced based on required standard / comparison against Master Sample / customer drawing / OQI details. • Full training using the CMM and handheld devices to conduct dimensional studies for new submissions to customers against customer drawings/specifications • Conducting PPAP reports and Cp / Cpk studies • Facilitating improvement projects / problem solving with the Production teams using tools / techniques such as 8D, 5WHY, Ishikawa, BOS charts, etc including data gathering / analysis from the InTouch ‘real time’ reporting system. • Visits to key customers to understand problems (to report back to the QA team for problem solving activities) • Completing Goods Inwards Inspection reports for safety critical components against customer drawings/specification • Assist the QHSE Manager in the following: • Generating SOPs / Visual Standards • Internal audits in line with the ISO 9001 QMS requirements • Communicate internal presentations on Lean Manufacturing techniques • Update internal KPI data ready for communication to the Management team / on the Company Noticeboards • Supplier Audits (UK based) The training you will be getting Intermediate Apprenticeship for Lean Manufacturing Operative L2 This apprenticeship will be completed by working 4 days per week onsite with the employer, learning the job role and gaining valuable work experience, and then 1 day per week attending Derby College to complete coursework and assessments. English and Maths Functional Skills may be completed alongside the apprenticeship if necessary, however, passing this will be mandatory to receive the apprenticeship qualification.
