Forensic Multimedia Production Officer
Regional Scientific Support Services

1 permanent full-time position.

About the Role
Are you a visual storyteller with a passion for technology and criminal investigation?
The Yorkshire and Humber Regional Scientific Support Services (RSSS) is looking for a Forensic Multimedia Production Officer. Based within the Imaging Unit at Calder Park, Wakefield, you will be part of a dynamic team supporting criminal investigations through the creation of compelling digital evidence presentations.
This role is ideal for individuals with a creative mindset and a strong interest in forensic science, digital media, and crime scene investigations. You will be responsible for producing graphic visual representations of digital evidence that communicate complex information clearly and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
•Collaborate with Police Officers, legal teams across Yorkshire and the Humber, and external organisations.
•Project manage the development of evidence-based multimedia packages for Crown Court prosecutions.
•Prepare digital evidence using bespoke presentation software for use in Electronic Presentation of Evidence (EPE) packages.
•Ensure all materials are tailored to the specific needs of each case.
Note: This role focuses on the preparation of digital evidence. It does not involve presenting evidence in court.

Types of Digital Evidence You Will Work with and Create:
•Video: CCTV, body-worn footage, scene and surveillance videos, drone footage, route reconstructions, subtitled 999 calls, covert recordings, and video interviews.
•3D Visuals: Body maps illustrating internal and external injuries, interactive scene/event and model reconstructions.
•High-Resolution Images: Crime scene photography, maps, plans, interactive 360° VR, forensic exhibits (e.g., blood spatter, fingerprints, footwear impressions).
•Documents: Cell site data, attribution charts, i2 charts, PDFs, spreadsheets, and reports.

Your Software and Skill Background
We’re looking for candidates with a solid understanding of multimedia and digital tools relevant to forensic media production. While you’re not expected to have experience with every tool listed below, a good working knowledge of several will be important to succeed in the role.
You should be familiar with:
•Video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Media Encoder
•Image creation and interactive platforms like Photoshop or Adobe Animate
•3D scene reconstruction tools including Blender, Poser 3D, Daz Studio, Unity, or Unreal Engine
•Data and documentation management using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat Pro
•Basic scripting and interactivity using HTML and JavaScript

• A starting salary of £33,603.00 rising to £35,772.00

Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate would be required to provide biometric samples (fingerprints and DNA) for inclusion on the respective Police elimination databases. This is for routine speculative searching purposes.
