Assistant Psychologist

An opportunity has arisen to recruit an Assistant Psychologist within the Southern Gambling Service (SGS). This service is based at College Keep, in Southampton, but the role will involve predominantly remote working from home. The team meet monthly, in person, at College Keep and some mandatory training will require traveling to Trust sites in Hampshire.
The principal purpose of the job is to support the work of the Southern Gambling Service, including assisting with psychological assessment and interventions under the supervision of a qualified Psychologist or CBT therapist. To assist in audit and data collection and the development of research and innovation projects. To work independently according to a plan agreed with a qualified Psychologist and within the overall framework of the Trusts policies and procedures.
Main duties of the job
1.Implementing specific assessments, clinical care, psychological interventions, and providing advice and consultancy to clients, family members, carers and professionals under the supervision and management of a senior qualified psychologist.
2.The post holder will be supported by senior colleagues within the Southern Gambling Service. The post holder will be expected to make good use of the expertise of others within the service to further develop their clinical skills with this client group
3.To work independently within a defined managed and occupational context. To work within professional guidelines and SGS procedures and protocols
4.The post holder will receive regular professional and clinical supervision in accordance to Trust policy and to Professional Practice Guidelines set out by the British Psychological Society.
5.The post holder's role will be conducted in accordance with a value system of person-centered care, the enhancement of client autonomy, social inclusion and dignity.

* BA or BSc in Psychology recognised by the British Psychological Society
