Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and a passion for vehicle maintenance and repair. As a Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that vehicles are safe and roadworthy. This role requires proficiency in using various tools and equipment, as well as excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients regarding their vehicle needs.
Responsibilities
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues in vehicles using schematics and diagnostic tools.
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake inspections, and tyre rotations.
Repair or replace faulty components, including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to carry out repairs.
Assemble parts and equipment as required for repairs or upgrades.
Maintain a clean and organised work environment while adhering to safety standards.
Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance procedures to clients clearly.
Assist in heavy lifting of equipment or parts as necessary during repairs or maintenance tasks.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician or similar role is preferred.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and technical manuals.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Ability to perform heavy lifting when required during repairs or maintenance tasks.
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
A valid driving licence is advantageous but not essential.
