Director of Services
We are seeking an experienced Director of Services to work as part of the Senior Management Team to provide strategic leadership and direction for the organisation and deputise for the CEO as required.
You will be responsible for the Charity’s client-facing, free at point of access, service delivery operations, including Information, Advice and Advocacy, and Hospital and Community support services.
Position Details
* Location: Hayes, London
* Salary: £55,000 per annum
* Hours: Full-time - 35 hours per week
* Contract: Permanent

About the role
As Director of Services, you will oversee a range of services including Hospital services (A&E support, discharge and falls prevention), community services (activity groups, befriending, clubs), and information and advice services (benefits, housing, carers, statutory advocacy).
You will ensure all contracts and grants meet targets and deliver high-quality services with measurable impact and feedback systems.
You will be a key member of our Senior Management Team, contributing to our 5-year strategy, business planning, and budgeting.
You will manage external partnerships and third sector consortia, influence local authority priorities, and play a role in NHS transformation across Northwest London. You will be based in a positive, creative, and ambitious organisation, supported by a skilled SMT, and responsible for a team of experienced managers.
Key responsibilities
1. Provide strategic leadership and contribute to organisational strategy and planning.
2. Identify and resource development opportunities to improve the lives of older people.
3. Manage and develop staff, set targets, and monitor performance.
4. Ensure staff and volunteers are informed of relevant policies and best practices.
5. Develop systems for feedback from service users to inform organisational culture.
6. Ensure quality data collection for measuring reach and impact, and oversee reporting.
7. Work with the CEO and trustees to develop budgets and ensure services are delivered within budget.
8. Collaborate with external partners and funding agencies to deliver contracted services on time and within budget.
About you
You should be able to operate effectively in challenging and changing environments. Essential skills include leadership, managing people, organisational change, and improving business processes.
* Educated to Degree level or equivalent, or substantial senior management experience.
* Proven leadership of teams of staff and volunteers.
* Effective management of time, tasks, and projects.
* Experience working within or influencing health and social care services.
* Experience designing and leading new or remodelled services.
* Knowledge of the voluntary sector and user involvement.
* Understanding of local health and social care structures.
* Excellent communication skills.
