Overview
We are seeking a skilled and creative Chef to join our team at a renowned restaurant in the heart of the city. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food production, and leading a team of culinary professionals.
Duties
- Prepare and cook delicious and visually appealing dishes in line with the restaurant's standards
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support where needed
- Manage food preparation processes to maintain quality and consistency
- Lead menu planning and development in collaboration with the management team
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen
- Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as required
- Train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques and procedures
Experience
Required:
- Extensive experience in a similar role within a busy restaurant environment
- Proficiency in various cooking techniques and cuisines
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
- Excellent organisational skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently
Nice-to-have:
- Formal culinary qualifications or certifications
- Previous experience in menu planning and development
- Knowledge of cost control measures within a kitchen setting
