About the Business Unit
We help conceive, drive, and implement transport solutions for cities, regions, and asset owners/operators around the globe. From preparing the business case and advising on issues such as revenue, procurement, and environmental legislation to delivering infrastructure and maintaining it. Our skills cover the entire project cycle, and we play a major role in developing and delivering the Global Transport Sector Strategy.
Overview of role
Are you an Information Manager looking to change how we deliver major projects? Our Information Management team at Mott MacDonald seeks experienced Information Managers with project management experience to oversee various projects.
Our team is part of the Metro & Civils division, which includes 6 engineering areas: Foundation & Geotechnics; Information Management; Ports, Coastal & Offshore; Bridges; Special Services; and Tunnels. We seek managers with engineering delivery experience to enhance our integration of engineering and information management, aiming to improve delivery methodologies.
You’ll be involved in developing strategies, planning processes, and implementing tools to improve project delivery. This may involve working directly with clients or supporting internal projects. You will advocate for digital workflows, promote good information management, and work closely with clients to share expertise.
As an Information Manager, you will ensure successful project delivery for clients and Mott MacDonald, covering technical, commercial, and financial aspects. Responsibilities include team briefing, risk assessment, budgeting, planning, selecting delivery methods (balancing waterfall and agile), managing stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with company standards.
Candidate specification
We seek a seasoned Information Manager with experience managing multidisciplinary projects from concept to construction, preferably within a design consultancy on complex, concurrent projects. You should understand the impact of information management and digital tools on design and construction, including design risk management, programming, tendering, and quality assurance. Leadership qualities are essential.
Willingness to travel internationally is required.
You should demonstrate:
* A degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent
* Chartered status or equivalent
* Experience managing multi-disciplinary projects, ideally in transport, using ISO 19650 standards
* Familiarity with industry-standard tools and technologies during delivery
* Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
