This 21-bed ward offers a unique combination of general, stroke, and orthogeriatric rehabilitation, along with specialized rehabilitation for patients with paraplegia or amputations seeking close-to-home care.
Location: CAITHNESS GENERAL HOSPITAL, WICK
Position: Clinical Fellow in Geriatric Medicine (Fixed term 12 months)
Salary: £45,504 - £60,199 per annum (2024 – 2025 Rates)
We are a small 41-bed hospital serving a population of 35,000 in a remote area. Our team provides continuity of care for people living with frailty, often with recurrent hospital admissions, fostering long-term relationships with patients and their families.
The post also involves assisting with frailty assessments at the front door and reviewing adults with longer predicted hospital stays. You will have opportunities to develop clinical skills in geriatric medicine and engage in roles such as quality improvement or teaching. The team is friendly, supportive, and forward-thinking.
Applicants must have full GMC registration with a license to practice and at least two years of postgraduate training (or equivalent experience).
