Assistant Finance Manager – Through Age & Wellbeing
Please note that the advertised salary for this position is subject to a pending pay award. The final salary will be adjusted in line with the nationally agreed pay award.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Finance Manager to join our Service Accountancy Team within Finance and Procurement. We are looking to recruit a skilled, enthusiastic, and motivated individual on a permanent, full-time basis. This opportunity has arisen following an investment in the Accountancy service and the promotion of the previous post-holder.
Responsibilities:
* You will oversee and assist with managing the team that provides financial support to the Council’s Through Age Wellbeing Services, ensuring effective budget setting, in-year financial monitoring, and closure of accounts, as well as managing key external funding streams.
* You will be expected to:
* Identify and escalate significant financial issues to senior management with actionable recommendations.
* Advise services on financial governance and adhere to the Council’s financial regulations.
* Provide financial advice and support to elected Members, Corporate Lead Officers, senior managers, budget managers, and colleagues to the highest professional standards and within prescribed timescales.
* Provide professional financial advice and analysis to support the Council’s strategic plans and Medium-Term Financial Strategy.
* Complete various statutory returns and grant claims.
* Be a fully or part-qualified accountant, AAT qualified, or have equivalent demonstrable experience.
