Job Summary
Planned Care Division, Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department - Locum Consultant Gynaecologist & Obstetrician with a specialist interest in Gynae-oncology.
We are looking to appoint a dynamic consultant to complement our existing team. We have a busy outpatient gynaecology service offering the full range of diagnostic and therapeutic services. This maternity cover post supports our gynae‑oncology team.
Key Responsibilities
* Attend gynaecology clinics and perform associated duties.
* Participate in gynaecology operating, including surgical procedures and outpatient hysteroscopy.
* Perform colposcopy if required and manage acute gynaecology cases.
* Provide day‑time labour ward cover and participate in caesarean section lists.
* Assist in out‑of‑hours on‑call cover for obstetrics and gynaecology (providing 98 hours of onsite delivery suite cover per week).
* Collaborate with MDT, gynaecology radiology, histopathology and regional MDT.
Qualifications
* Full GMC registration with license to practice (or eligibility to obtain).
* CCT in O&G and on GMC's Specialist Register, or within 6 months of CCT from interview date, or confirmed eligibility for Specialist Registration.
* ATSM gynae‑oncology or benign gynaecology surgical care (or equivalent).
* MRCOG or equivalent.
Desirable Qualifications
* Appropriate higher degree (e.g. MD, PhD or equivalent).
* ATSM Labour Ward Management.
* MOET or equivalent.
* ATSM in therapeutic hysteroscopy or equivalent.
* BSCCP Colposcopy Accreditation or ATSM in Colposcopy or equivalent.
Clinical Experience
Essential
* Clinical training and experience in general obstetrics and gynaecology equivalent to that required for a UK CCT.
* Strong surgical expertise in both laparoscopic and open management of gynaecological pathology.
Desirable
* Experience in gynaecology outpatient procedures: ultrasound, hysteroscopy.
* Experience of tertiary Gynae‑oncology centre.
Pay & Contract
Pay scheme: Hospital medical and dental staff.
Grade: Consultant.
Salary: £109,725 to £145,478 a year per annum.
Contract: Fixed term (12 months).
Working pattern: Full‑time.
