HMP Wayland Senior Practitioner
HMP Wayland presents a fantastic opportunity for individuals seeking management experience in a recovery-focused environment. Our Recovery Inside prison service offers assessment and psychosocial support for men with drug and alcohol issues, providing therapeutic treatment through one-to-one and group sessions.
The Role
As a Senior Practitioner, you will manage a small team of 2 substance misuse practitioners and a family support worker, deliver services, and handle a caseload of more complex clients. The position is full-time (37.5 hours/week), based on-site at HMP Wayland.
About You
* Passion for supporting and nurturing your team
* Interest in contributing to management tasks like data and workload management
* Management experience or relevant training (e.g., managing volunteers, project leadership, supporting managers)
* Proven ability to work in partnership with various agencies
* Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and database systems
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Experience in health and social care, preferably in substance misuse or mental health
* Willingness to collaborate with healthcare, mental health, community agencies, and prison services while adhering to security protocols
Other titles for this role may include Senior Recovery Worker, Senior Criminal Justice Worker, or Senior Substance Misuse Recovery Worker.

The Service
HMP Wayland, a Category C Men’s prison in Norfolk, supports sentenced individuals addressing substance misuse issues through personalized psycho-social interventions. The team of around 15 staff has been established since 2018, with free on-site parking available.
