About the Role:
We're looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Commercial Events Officer to join our Venues Team at ARU Chelmsford. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering and growing our commercial events activity, supporting external clients and showcasing our campus spaces.
You'll be the main point of contact for commercial events, generating income by actively selling space/services to external organisations and internal customers for a range of conferences and events. Providing specialist event expertise in all areas, including sales, contracting, logistics/operations and ensuring a smooth and professional service from start to finish. You'll work closely with internal teams and external organisations to plan and deliver a wide range of events, generating income and enhancing our reputation.
You'll have substantial experience in event management, excellent organisational and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. You'll be confident working independently, with a calm, methodical approach and a strong focus on customer service. You should be proficient in Microsoft Office, with experience using room or event booking systems.
Flexibility is essential, as evening and weekend work will be required. The post holder will be required to work from Tuesday to Saturday, with Sundays and Mondays as usual non-working days. Willing and able to travel to the Writtle and Cambridge campuses as required (occasional travel to Cambridge).
