Job Overview
The post holder will need to be an experienced theatre practitioner in Emergency Surgery, who has excellent leadership and clinical skills and is able to effectively act as a team leader, providing clinical leadership and management support to ensure agreed standards, objectives and targets are always met. The post holder as a clinical expert in Emergency surgery will also be required to act within their professional boundaries to provide care for patients. They will work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary care team to meet the needs of patients. The role requires a high profile, accessible and responsive leader. To coordinate the effective and efficient access of emergency patients to theatre out of hours. They will lead and support the emergency theatre team and floor control throughout the night. Must be able to make informed decisions within their own area and scope of professional practice. Ensuring national and local agreed standards/targets are met and to take charge of the theatre department out of hours.
Requirements
* Experience as a theatre practitioner in Emergency Surgery.
* Excellent leadership, clinical, communication, and decision‑making skills.
* Ability to act within professional boundaries to provide patient care.
* Capacity to work collaboratively with a multi‑disciplinary care team.
* Responsibility for ensuring national and local standards and targets are met.
* Immunisation and vaccination report from a UK occupational health provider or UK GP.
