We are recruiting for an Insights Manager based at our Head Office in Chineham Basingstoke, this is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of data analysts and play a pivotal role in transforming complex data into actionable business insights. You'll be at the heart of driving smarter decisions, improving processes, and supporting strategic change initiatives that deliver real impact across the organisation. Working closely with the Network Planning Centre, Network Solutions, and operational teams, you'll leverage a wide range of data sources, including forecasting, trend analysis, and plan-versus-actual performance to recommend opportunities, optimise transport efficiency, and enhance network design. As the expert behind the evidence, you'll enable scenario-based modelling, support continuous transport plan improvements, and provide insights that help our teams make confident, data-driven decisions. Define and deliver the analytics roadmap, ensuring data tools drive continuous improvement and transport optimisation. Collaborate with the Network Planning Centre and Regional Network Solutions team for the development of scenario-based models to guide network design and future investment decisions. Audit plan compliance by evaluating if sites executed transport schedule as planned and assessing driver adherence to planned routes and schedules. Track and analyse driver productivity, specifically comparing actual driver hours per duty and driver kilometres per duty against the original plan. Monitor and report on fleet utilisation to identify underperforming equipment and drive maximum efficiency across the network. Translate complex analytical outputs into actionable insights for senior stakeholders at Gist and M&S. Manage and upskill a team of analysts, building technical skills and clear succession pathways. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR Your skills and experience will include: Experience in an analytical or operations support role, ideally in logistics or a data driven operational environment. Proficient in Microsoft tools and at least one programming language (SQL, Python, or R) alongside visualisation expertise (Spotfire/Power BI/Tableau). Ability to interpret complex datasets to identify end-to-end trends and innovative solutions. Stakeholder management skills, to drive decision-making across NPC, Network Solutions, Operational teams and external partners. Able to prioritise a broad portfolio of initiatives in a fast-paced transport environment. Ability at simplifying technical findings for non-technical audiences to resolve issues and secure buy in.
