About the role
Our Audit team is crucial to our business. They work closely with Risk and Compliance to create internal risk management and compliance processes, ensuring they run efficiently.
We’re looking for a motivated Internal Auditor with experience auditing UK bank operations, such as technology, payments, operational resilience, and third-party risk management.
As part of the UK Bank team, you’ll provide assurance over governance and control frameworks, and play a key role in helping the company achieve its strategic goals and deliver more value to customers.
What you'll be doing
* Developing and executing audit programmes under internal policies, regulatory requirements, and professional standards, in collaboration with the UK Bank Head of Internal Audit (SMF5).
* Using data analytics to understand risks, test controls, and generate insights.
* Identifying relevant risks and regulatory requirements to define audit scope and work programmes.
* Engaging with staff to understand risks, controls, and processes.
* Discussing findings with management and developing audit reports that identify deficiencies, root causes, and recommendations.
* Completing training to stay current with industry standards.
* Collaborating with business units to improve processes, controls, and compliance.
* Following up on previous audit deficiencies and monitoring progress.
* Managing audit projects from start to finish, escalating issues as needed.
What you'll need
* At least 5 years of audit experience within a UK-regulated environment.
* Expertise in cyber, operational resilience, technology, payments, or third-party risk management.
* Knowledge of frameworks like NIST, ITIL, COBIT, ISO, SWIFT CSP, and UK payment schemes.
* Proficiency with data analysis tools such as SQL, SAS, Python, or R.
* Understanding of IIA standards.
* Strong desire to learn and grow within a dynamic team.
* Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Nice to have
* Experience auditing agile organizations.
* Experience in fast-paced, results-driven environments.
* Certifications like CISSP, CISA, CertPAY, CEH, ITIL, CGEIT, CRISC, CCSP, or cloud certifications (AWS/GCP).
